Aquanaut's Holiday is a meditative take on a diving simulator. There is no combat, no opposing force such as air limits or anything like that; it is almost wholly a game about discovery and exploration.

As you explore, you can 'communicate' with the various creatures you find by playing one of several musical notes. Some notes or note series will cause the creatures to behave in interesting ways.

In your journeys, you will find 'blocks' that represent coral reef pieces. You can place those pieces to slowly build a small coral and animal community. It's a low-fidelity simulation, but fun to watch and grow.

There are some issues with sluggish controls, but Artdink has created a very unique and memorable game, and it's worth exploring and relaxing in their version of the deep.
